If MIDI is not encrypted you should be able to see lyrics as plain text somewhere. That's usually not the case.
The MIDI structure was discussed in:
http://karaoke-engineering.44.s1.nabble.com/Understanding-the-HOTDOG-files-on-DVD-of-California-electronics-td16.html
It's not the MIDI file format.

You can analyze the data. But you can't do much until your suspicion confirmed:
1) Find a simple song, e.g. Happy Birthday. Try to locate it.
2) Get a DVD-RW and make a copy via ISO image and ensure the copy is working.
3) Locate the song in the ISO image and use HEX editor to patch one or two bytes based on the finding in (1).
4) Burn the disk and try to play the song. It might CRASH the device!!!! If you are lucky you may patch into lyrics and it would be visible on screen.
5) After you find the way to locate MIDI, you can start trying on song with lyrics like lalala...

These all can be found under:
http://karaoke-engineering.44.s1.nabble.com/Understanding-the-HOTDOG-files-on-DVD-of-California-electronics-td16.html

When you're more confident you can patch more songs in each patch.

HI,
I just wonder
1. How did you identify the MIDI block?
2. I understand you mentioned running some masks. But my question is how could you tell it is the masked data or the real MIDI data?
3. Is it a particular data structure for the MIDI data?

Thanks

Oh . A few things I have not figured out yet.
Where is the byte that represents the language?
Where is the byte that represents the length of the title and the offset of the start of the lyrics?
Where is the byte that represents the offset of the end of the lyrics and the beginning of the MIDI data?

I can extract the title/composer/lyrics writer/singer info.

still work on the actually lyrics part which quite a mess. I am able to get some but not all. But nowadays you can find lyrics everywhere on internet. So probably not worth the time to work on it.

I really want the MIDI part though. If anyone know how to extract it, please let me know.

Most of my findings are mostly concur with what others have already found in this forum/thread, although I worked it out independently.

I am now stuck with the MIDI data part. (and maybe the song's ID to the actual IDs).

Other things, like song data block, song title, lyrics, mp3. I think you have already discovered. Unfortunately those are the things that I don't need. I only need the MIDIs

tag:karaoke-engineering.44.s1.nabble.com,2006:post-5488Re: Arirang MIDI Karaoke DVD storage file struct and MP3 Extraction2023-12-04T23:02:39Z2023-12-04T23:02:39ZBho1668
I also found that the TOC pointer section of MULTAK.DAT not always equal to the song ID in the song book. For example, the max number of pointers is 39364 but the song ID has number over 40000. The first few dozens matched. That means there must be another mapping table. Maybe in the .IDX file.

Well, DMD UI doesn't support USB Karaoke. It only works with the SK UI and KV UI with USB Karaoke support.

That sounds like missing data, something hidden (e.g. partition) and wasn't copied.
If you're using Win10. Open explorer:
1) Right click on "This PC" and select Manage.
2) Select Disk Management.
Then check how many partitions are on the original SD-card. It would look something like this:

You have to buy a Mini USB to USB cable to connect it to your PC and make sure your 6200TW is a removable device

Go to karaoke

Go to downloads and put your videos in there

check your songbook and instruction manual
